Previstar receives SAFETY Act Designation. Validates customer commitment. Provides significant lawsuit protection.

(Alexandria, VA) - May 01, 2007 - Previstar, a leading provider of incident management software, announced it has received SAFETY (Support Anti-terrorism by Fostering Effective Technology) Act Designation from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. This designation grants its customers and subcontractors significant lawsuit protection and reduced liability for claims rising out of terrorism acts where the Previstar Continual Preparedness System has been deployed.

Previstar's Continual Preparedness System is a web-based, easy-to-use, automated incident management system, providing real-time GIS situational awareness, command and control functions, predictive modeling, comprehensive resource management and reimbursement facilitation - all precisely aligned with NIMS, HICS and ICS guidelines.

First responders, emergency managers, and medical organizations have used Previstar to protect schools, prepare for bioterrorism attacks, safeguard the Salt Lake City Olympics, and recover from the multiple 2004 Florida hurricanes and Hurricane Katrina.

"Providing the industry's most comprehensive software to help first responders, emergency managers and medical organizations plan for, respond to, and recover from any incident or event, is our core mission," said Keith Stringfellow, CEO of Previstar. "SAFETY Act Designation further validates our commitment to our customers--the public safety, health and emergency management communities who will benefit from effective incident command and response capabilities - all the while doing so with congressionally-approved liability protections."

Congress enacted the SAFETY Act in 2002, to provide incentives for the development and deployment of anti-terrorism technologies. The legislation ensures that the threat of liability does not deter companies from developing and commercializing technologies that could significantly reduce the risks or mitigate the effects of large-scale terrorist events.
